The Potential of Wind and Solar Power in Small Island Developing States
AbstractThis paper provides an order of magnitude assessment of the potential of renewable energy from solar photovoltaic (SPV) and offshore wind in the capital cities of two Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and compares these results to New York City, which serves as a reference for future electricity demand. This investigation illustrates the theoretical superiority of SPV over offshore wind and the greater feasibility with which SIDS can undertake a full renewable transition. READ MORE
